Katie Childs had every intention of becoming a graphic designer, graduating from the University of Central Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree in studio art, with an emphasis in graphic design. Her first job out of college, working for the state capital, was advertised as a design position. It ended up being primarily photography, and Childs fell in love with taking photos. She started freelancing on the side, and nearly seven years later, she's a full-time photographer, traveling all over the United States for weddings and moving into commercial work.

Katie Childs intended to be a graphic designer. Her first job out of college led her to a different career: photography. She started freelancing by asking her friends if anybody needed a family portrait. Now, she owns her own business, travels to photograph destination weddings, and continues to learn new things and ways to use her skill.
