Robert Bean is a narrative artist, who grew up in Little Rock influenced by comic books. As a result, he realized that drawing as a job was a possibility. After a little bit of a detour, Bean earned his Fine Art degree, with a drawing emphasis, from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR). Then he started collaborating with local artist Diane Harper to curate shows while practicing his craft and expanding his marketing. Now, he serves as the Painting & Drawing Department Chair of the Museum School while showing his art in places like Gallery 26 in Little Rock.

Robert Bean first realized he could build a career with art when he was eight years old, reading stacks of comics books with friends. Bean continued to practice his craft as a visual storyteller, and after a detour on the way to earning his degree, he started showing his work and curating shows.
